For those who will stay on campus, we expect that we can use the hot tub all three nights and that we will likely have the more desirable Chalet rooms this year. (IONS won’t formally guarantee that at this point but we do have “first dibs” this time.)

We are supposed to have 35 overnight attendees on the weekend in order to get a much better rate on our meeting room. It’s possible they won’t hold us to that, but it’s a concern. Please consider the benefits of joining us and avoiding long hard commutes twice a day.

We need to give IONS our estimates of how many rooms we will take on Sept. 3 and again on Oct. 3. The latter is final, and we pay the higher of the Sept. estimate or actual usage. It would be really helpful for us if you can confirm staying on campus as soon as you can! If you are unsure, please contact us with some idea of your circumstances so that we can better estimate our numbers.

For those commuting from off campus, the only deadline we face with IONS is a week before the event when we give them final numbers for meals.

For everyone, the event price will be what IONS charges us for your rooms and meals plus our $95 gathering fee ($70 if received by Oct. 2), which goes for the meeting room charges, event insurance, supplies and printing, and modest stipends for some of our organizers.

Donations: On the form there are lines for two types of donations. Donations for Presenters will be divided equally among the presenters (major time slots). Donations for the WCMG will be used as our committee allocates for stipends, travel, or building up our kitty to cover next year’s deposit. We greatly appreciate whatever you can contribute!

To register, please send a printed copy of the registration form (or an email containing a scan of it, or just an email with all the info) and send a check to Ed Hamerstrom, 1655 Carson Woods Rd., Fortuna, CA 85540, or you can use PayPal “Friends and Family” (because this is not a business) to metasyn@aol.com. Note that PayPal charges 2.9% if you use a credit or debit card to pay, but nothing if you draw from a bank account or your PayPal balance. Thank you!
